Miguel S. and his wife, Liliana F., had long dreamt of owning a home. Tired of constantly paying rent, they knew it was time to make a change. Their journey towards homeownership began with a conversation initiated by Baldwin T., a coworker of Miguel. Even though Baldwin was still searching for his own home with us, he was confident enough in our services to recommend us.
Our initial phone conversation with Miguel was straightforward. They were renting and ready to buy, despite concerns about the current high interest rates. We explained the financial aspects of renting versus owning, emphasizing that in the long run, owning a home was a better investment.
Meeting them at our Gaithersburg office Getting To Know You meeting was the next step. Here, we discussed their needs and outlined the buying process. We then introduced them to Adriana Clapper, with Prime lending LLC. Thanks to her diligent work, Miguel and Liliana received a a pre-approval letter, strengthening their position in the competitive housing market.
The house hunting began with some initial hiccups. The first round of house tours didn’t yield a match. However, it helped refine their search criteria. Just as we were gearing up for the second round, a house that had gone back on the market caught our attention. It matched all of Miguel and Liliana’s requirements.
Seeing the opportunity, they quickly made a purchase offer, leveraging the fact that the sellers were keen to close the deal after a previous contract had fallen through. Their proactive approach paid off, and the sellers accepted their offer without waiting for others.
With the appraisal already done from the previous contract, the process was further streamlined. From then on, our team worked closely with Miguel and Liliana, ensuring their interests were prioritized. The final stage, settlement, was smoothly handled by KVS Title, marking the end of their buying journey.
